Schedule loyalty points for every amount spent

Schedule loyalty points for every amount spent

Introduction

Scheduling loyalty points allows you to control when points are credited to customers after a purchase, rather than awarding them immediately. By scheduling loyalty points for every amount spent, you can introduce an approval or holding period to account for order returns, cancellations, or fulfillment status. This article explains how to set up scheduled loyalty points based on the amount spent, helping you manage rewards more effectively and fairly.

Here are the steps to schedule loyalty points for every amount spent:

Step 2: Enable the Schedule points and enter the number of points which will be equivalent to $1 spent. You will also get the following options:

Note: When to schedule points?

The Schedule points can be used for special occasions such as Christmas or Black Friday sales, where customers can earn more points for a specific period.

What is the start date?

The start date is the point from which the customer begins earning the points that have been set in the Schedule points for every $1 spent.

What is the end date?

The end date is considered the time from which the customer will stop earning the scheduled points earned for every $1 spent. After the end date, the customer will start earning the same points that have been set in Points earned for every $1 spent.

Step 3: Once you set the settings, scroll down to the bottom and click on update.

Customers will now earn the set points on the scheduled date according to your settings.

Important Notes

    1. Scheduled loyalty points are awarded only during the configured start and end date range.
    2. Outside the scheduled period, customers will earn points based on the default earning rate.
    3. This feature applies exclusively to the Make a Purchase earning activity.
    4. The scheduled points value overrides the default points-per-$1 setting during the scheduled period.
    5. Points are credited according to the selected order status (Paid or Fulfilled).
    6. Changes made to scheduled points apply to future orders only.
    7. Scheduled points respect other earning conditions such as discount exclusions, product/collection exclusions, and shipping/tax exclusions.
    8. Ensure the schedule time zone is set correctly to avoid unexpected start or end times.
