Introduction

Redeem Points allows customers to use the loyalty points they have earned to unlock rewards, discounts, or exclusive offers on your store. Setting up redeem rules is a crucial step in completing your Loyalty Rewards Program, as it gives customers a clear incentive to earn and use their points.

In this article, you’ll learn how to configure Redeem Points in AiTrillion, including how to create redeem rules, define point values, and control how rewards are applied at checkout. A well-configured redeem setup helps increase repeat purchases, boost customer satisfaction, and maximize the impact of your loyalty program.


To set up Loyalty Redeem Points, follow these steps:





Step 2: Choose the type of reward you want to set up and click on the reward type to set up options. Once done, remember to save. Here is some detail on the various redemption reward types:

Amount Discount:

A fixed amount off on a customer’s entire order (e.g. $5 off).

Discount Amount ($): Define the monetary value of the discount that customers will receive.

Example:
If set to $5, the customer will get a $5 discount on their order.


Points to Claim: Specify the number of loyalty points required to redeem this discount.

Example:
If set to 500, customers must redeem 500 points to receive the $5 discount.


Reward Title: This title appears on the storefront and represents the reward.
  • {{MONEY_OFF}} - This tag will show the amount which will be off for the customers.


Reward Text: This text is shown to customers when they choose to redeem this reward.
  • {{POINTS}} - This tag will show no. of points needed to redeem the amount discount.


Minimum Purchase Amount: Set the minimum cart value required to use this discount.

Example:
If set to $100, the discount can only be applied when the cart total is $100 or more.


Minimum Purchase Amount Text: This message is shown to customers to explain the minimum purchase condition.
  • {{MINSPENT}} - This tag will show Minimum purchase amount required to spend to claim the amount off.


Show in POS: Enable this option if you want this reward to be available for offline store in Shopify POS (Point of Sale). 

Applies To: Select the products or collections where this discount can be applied.
  • If nothing is selected, the discount applies to all products





Percentage Off:

A percentage discount on a customer’s entire order or for a specific collection, or for a specific product.

Discount (%): Set the percentage discount customers will receive when redeeming points.

Example: If set to 5, customers get 5% off their purchase.

Points to Claim: Specify the number of loyalty points required to redeem this percentage discount.

Example:
If set to 500, customers must redeem 500 points to receive the discount.


Reward Title: This title appears on the storefront and represents the reward.
  • {{PERCENTAGE_DISCOUNT}} - This tag will show number of percentage discount which customers will get while redeeming the point.

Reward Text: This text is shown to customers when they choose to redeem the reward.
  • {{POINTS}} - This tag will show number of points required to generate percentage off.


Minimum Purchase Amount: Define the minimum cart value required to apply this percentage discount.

Example: If set to $100, the discount can only be used when the cart total is $100 or more.

Minimum Purchase Amount Tex: Displayed to customers to explain the minimum spend condition.
  • {{MINSPENT}}: This tag will show the minimum amount which is required to spent for redeeming the points.

Show in POS: Enable this option if you want the reward to be available in Shopify POS. Useful for offline sales.

Applies To: Choose specific products or collections where this discount can be applied.
  • If nothing is selected, the discount applies to all products






Free Shipping:

A free shipping voucher can be redeemed against loyalty rewards earned by the customer.

Points to claim: No. of points required to claim free shipping.
Reward title: The title you set will be displayed on the storefront loyalty pop-up.
Reward text: This text will be shown to the storefront loyalty pop-up with a description.





Free Product:

A 100% discount on a specific product is given as a voucher. This reward configuration needs you to know the product.
Product ID: Enter or select the Product ID of the product you want to offer for free.
  • You can search and select the product using the search icon

  • This ensures the correct product is linked to the reward


Product Title: Displays the name of the selected product.
  • Automatically filled once the product is selected

  • Shown to customers on the storefront loyalty popup


Points to Claim: Specify the number of loyalty points required to redeem the free product.

Example:
If set to 100, customers must redeem 100 points to get the product for free.


Reward Title: This title is displayed on the storefront loyalty popup.

Reward Text: This text is shown to customers when they choose to redeem the reward.

{{POINTS}}: This tag will show no. of points required to redeem the free product.

Show in POS: Enable this option if you want the free product reward to be available in Shopify POS.
  • Useful for physical or retail store redemptions


Product Image: Upload or select an image for the free product reward.
  • Helps customers visually identify the reward

  • Recommended for better engagement on the storefront

Product Discount (Voucher):

The Product Discount redeem option allows customers to use their loyalty points to receive a percentage discount on a specific product. This reward is ideal for promoting selected products while giving customers a targeted incentive to redeem their points.

Product ID: Enter or search for the Product ID of the product on which the discount will be applied.
  • Use the search icon to select the product easily

  • Ensures the discount applies to the correct product

Product Title: Displays the name of the selected product.
  • Automatically populated once the product is selected

  • Shown to customers on the storefront loyalty popup


Discount (%): Set the percentage discount that will be applied to the selected product.

Example: If set to 5, customers receive a 5% discount on the product.


Points to Claim: Specify the number of loyalty points required to redeem this product discount.

Example: If set to 100, customers must redeem 100 points to get the discount.

Reward Title: This title appears on the storefront loyalty popup and represents the reward.

Reward Text: This text is shown to customers when they choose to redeem the reward.

{{POINTS}}: This text will show no. of points required to redeem the points.

Show in POS: Enable this option if you want the product discount reward to be available in Shopify POS. Useful for in-store purchases

Important Points

  • You must enable the Loyalty Rewards Program before setting up earn or redeem rules. To learn more, Click here.
  • Earn and redeem rules are not created automatically—each rule must be set up manually.

  • Changes to loyalty rules apply only to future customer actions and do not affect previously earned or redeemed points.

  • Customers must meet all rule conditions to earn or redeem points successfully.

  • Use clear campaign names, descriptions, and reward texts to avoid customer confusion on the storefront.

  • Storefront display and redemption behavior may take a short time to reflect after updates.
