Enable 'Make a Purchase' Activity | Reward Customers for Every Order with AiTrillion

Enable Make a purchase activity

Introduction

From this article, you'll gain an understanding of the various methods through which customers can accumulate points within the AiTrillion Loyalty Program.

Here are some quick steps to set up loyalty to earn points:

Step 1: Go to Loyalty Rewards > Set up program > Earn Points.

Idea
Note: Here are more details on setting up the method by which customers can earn points. click here

Step 2: Here, you shall be allowed to set up rules for every activity so that a customer can earn points. When customers perform that specific activity, they will earn the points that you have set up in the rule. To set up the rule, simply click on any activity.

AiTrillion is one of the most unique applications to be able to allow you to set the Make a purchase points in decimals! If you have a small currency value and do not want to give 1 loyalty point with respect to 1 dollar (your currency), then you can set up the Make a Purchase points in decimal. We allow you to enter Make a purchase point up to 3 decimal numbers.

Notes

Note: If Shopify store credit is enabled in your store and a customer uses store credit to pay for their order, please note that loyalty points will be calculated on the total order amount, including the store credit used.

Points earned for every $1 spent: This field lets you set how many loyalty points a customer will earn for every $1 they spend.
Example: If you set it to "1", a $100 order will give the customer 100 points.

Campaign name: This is the title of the campaign that customers will see in your Loyalty Program widget or panel.
Example: "Make a purchase"

Description: This is the message shown to customers when they view the details of this loyalty rule.
You can use dynamic tags like {{points}} and {{spend_amount}} to personalize the text.
Example: “You will earn {{points}} reward points for making a purchase per {{spend_amount}} spent.”

Page URL: Enter the URL where customers will be redirected when they click on this rule. Usually, this would be your product or collection page.

Reward text: This is the message shown to customers when they successfully earn points from a purchase. Example: “You earned 100 reward points for making a purchase.”

Points per heading: This lets you customize the label that shows in the Loyalty tier list. Example: Use “points per” to display something like “1 point per $1”.

Approval period (in days): You can delay the point awarding by setting an approval period in days.
Example: Enter "7" if you want points to be approved 7 days after the order is placed. Set to "0" for immediate approval (instantly visible to customer).

Advanced Options

Exclude shipping cost and taxes: Turn this ON if you want to award points only on the product subtotal (excluding shipping and tax amounts). Turn OFF if you want to give points on the full cart value including shipping/taxes.

Exclude sales product: Turn this ON to prevent points from being earned on products that are on sale or discounted.

Revert redeemed points on order cancellation: Turn this ON if you want to automatically give back redeemed points when a customer cancels or returns an order.

Earn point rule: Choose when the customer should receive points:

  • Order status is paid → Points are awarded when the order is paid.

  • Order status is fulfilled → Points are awarded only after the order is marked fulfilled (usually after delivery).

Recommended: Use “Paid” for faster gratification; use “Fulfilled” for lower refund risk.

Prevent point earning when a discount is applied: Choose how discounts affect point earning:

  • None → Points are always given, even if a discount is applied.

  • Exclude loyalty points for discounted orders → If the order has any discount, the customer won’t earn points.

  • Exclude loyalty points for discounted products → If specific discounted products are in the cart, no points are awarded for those products.

Info
Note: If “Exclude loyalty points for discounted products” is enabled, customers will not earn any points when a discount is applied to their order.

Don’t extend point expiry when no points are earned: Enable this option to prevent the point expiry timer from resetting unless the customer earns new points. When they make a qualifying purchase, the expiry timer resets and will expire on the date that has been set at Loyalty point expiry.

Step 3: Now, you can schedule the points within a specific period.

Notes

Note: When to schedule points?

The Schedule points can be used for special occasions such as Christmas or Black Friday sales, where customers can earn more points for a specific period.

What is the start date?

The start date is the point from which the customer begins earning the points that have been set in the Schedule points for every $1 spent.

What is the end date?

The end date is considered the time from which the customer will stop earning the scheduled points earned for every $1 spent. After the end date, the customer will start earning the same points that have been set in Points earned for every $1 spent

Notes
Between the Start and End dates of Scheduled points, any points set above the scheduled points(in the - Points earned for every $1 spent)
will not be applied.

Now, customers will earn points for every purchase, depending on the configured conditions.
