Introduction
Not every item in your store requires customers to earn loyalty points. In some cases—such as gift cards, heavily discounted products, or special collections—you may want to exclude them from your rewards program. By setting up exclusions for specific products or collections, you can keep your points system fair, protect your margins, and maintain the value of your loyalty incentives. In this article, we’ll walk you through how to prevent certain items from earning points while keeping the rest of your program running smoothly.

Step 3: Scroll down to the bottom, go to exclude certain collections or products from earning points, and click on Search for Product/Collection. Click on Specific collections to block a specific collection or click on Specific products to block specific products.
Step 4: Once you click on Specific collections or Specific products, you will get the option to search for the product and collection. If the collection or products are available, you can click on them and click on Update.
Now, customers will no longer earn points for purchases that include certain excluded products or collections.
Important notes
- Excluded products or collections will not earn loyalty points, even if the rest of the order qualifies.
- This setting applies only to the Make a Purchase earning activity.
- Points are calculated after exclusions are applied, so only eligible items contribute to point earning.
- You can exclude specific products, specific collections, or both.
- Changes made to exclusions apply to future orders only and do not affect past purchases.
- If a product belongs to multiple collections, excluding any one of those collections will prevent point earning for that product.
- Excluded items do not affect the earning of points on non-excluded items in the same order.
- Disabling the exclusion setting will allow points to be earned again for newly placed orders.
