Exclude shipping costs and taxes from the earn points calculation while making a purchase

Introduction

When calculating reward points for purchases, only the product subtotal will be considered. Shipping costs and taxes will be excluded from the calculation to ensure that rewards are earned solely on the value of the items purchased. In this article, you will learn how to exclude shipping costs and taxes from the reward points calculation when making a purchase.

Here are the steps to exclude shipping costs and taxes from the earn points:

Step 1: Go to Loyalty rewards >> Set up program >> Earn points.



Step 2: Click on Make a purchase, enable the Exclude shipping cost and taxes. 




Now, the customers will not earn points for shipping costs and taxes.


Important Notes

  1. When enabled, loyalty points are calculated only on the product subtotal, excluding shipping charges and taxes.
  2. This setting applies exclusively to the Make a Purchase earning activity.
  3. Excluding shipping costs and taxes affects future orders only and does not impact past purchases.'
  4. If this option is disabled, points may be calculated on the order total, including shipping and taxes (based on other earning settings).
  5. This setting works independently of discount exclusions and product or collection exclusions.
