Send Automated Emails Based on Product Page Visits | Boost Engagement with AiTrillion

Send an automatic email when someone visits a certain product

Introduction

Sending an automatic email when a customer visits a specific product allows you to engage them at the right moment with relevant and personalized communication. This helps you capture interest, remind customers about products they viewed, and encourage them to take the next step in their buying journey.

In this article, you’ll learn how to set up a workflow that triggers emails based on product visits, enabling you to deliver timely follow-ups, increase engagement, and improve conversion rates.

Here are the steps to send an automatic email when someone visits a certain product:

Step 2: Click on the Abandoned cart tab, look for Product browse abandoned, and click on the Use now button. A popup will appear, click on Yes! Use it.

Step 3: Add or remove the Filters or actions as per your needs, and click on the blue link to edit the email template.

Step 4: Click on Product visit trigger and enter the tag you have created in Shopify in the left trigger configuration area. For multiple tags, enter a tag and click add. Once you are happy, click done.

NotesNote:
1. If the tag textbox is empty, the email will be sent for all the product which has been browsed.
2. The tags have to be pre-entered in the product in Shopify.

Step 6: Once you are done, give your workflow a name, choose your throttling options, save it, and turn it on.
Info
Note: It is recommended to limit the number of times a contact may enter the workflow to 1 time(s) every 1

Important Notes

  • Ensure you select the correct trigger (Product Visit) to track customer activity accurately.
  • If using tags, make sure they are already created and assigned to products in Shopify.
  • If the tag field is left empty, emails will be sent for all browsed products.
  • Use filters to target specific products or customer segments for better personalization.
  • Always review and customize the email template before activating the workflow.
  • Verify that all product-related shortcodes (image, name, link) are working correctly.
  • Add appropriate delays to avoid sending emails immediately after a product visit.
  • Configure contact throttling to limit how often customers receive these emails.
  • Save and enable the workflow, otherwise emails will not be sent.
