Mark Customers as Active or inactive

Introduction:

Inactive customers are those who will not be counted in the AiTrillion billing and will not be a part of your AiTrillion system, including email, SMS, or Web Push. However, a purchase by an inactive customer will reactivate them in AiTrillion.

Note: Inactive customers are not charged by AiTrillion, however, if they engage with the store and the plan is based on Active customers, they become active customers again.

Automatic Marking Process (Single customer/Select all customers)

Step 1: Go to the Customers >> All Customers.

Step 2: Select the customer you want to activate/deactivate, and then click on Action, choose the appropriate action from the Actions menu

If you want to select all, click on the tick mark before the full name and click on Select All records.

Automatic Marking Process (In Bulk).

Step 1: Go to the Customers >> All customers.

Step 2: Choose the customers you want to activate/non-activate, and then choose the appropriate action from the Actions menu, or you can select all the records to mark as active/inactive.

Step 3: You will then see a prompt to confirm. Simply click on Set as Active/Inactive.

Domain Suppression Settings

You can easily mark customers inactive based on their domain in the email, such as (@domain.com). Example: if you don’t want to send emails to all customers from (amazon.com) or (ebay.com). You can suppress (amazon.com) or (ebay.com) domains.

Step 1: Go to Email Marketing >> Settings >> General Settings

Step 2: Enter the domain you wish to suppress, and click on Save.

Remember to enable the “Send mail to accept marketing” setting to send emails to only those customers who accept marketing. Keep it disabled to send emails to all customers, excluding inactive customers.

Import CSV Method

If you have a list of customers you want to deactivate in AiTrillion, follow the steps below.

Step 1: In your customer CSV file, add a new column named “Customer Status” along with email and other details. In this column, type "inactive" for every customer that you want to mark as inactive.

Step 2: Go to Customers > Import

Step 3: Click on the Upload CSV button in the top-right corner of the screen.

To import a CSV, you have to follow the steps below:

A. Import contacts and enter the required details. After following the instructions, click on the NEXT button to proceed.

B. After proceeding to step 2, map the columns available in the CSV file and click on the Next button to proceed.

While importing CSV, map the “Customer Status” column with the “Customer Status” field.

Once the process is complete, you can check the inactive or active customer lists on the customer list page by applying the customer status filter.

Important Notes:

• Backup Recommended: Before marking customers as Active or Inactive in bulk, it is recommended to export and keep a backup of your customer data.

• Bulk Actions Apply Immediately: When using bulk selection or CSV import, the changes will be applied immediately after confirmation. Please review the selected customers carefully before proceeding.

• Impact on Email Campaigns: Inactive customers may not receive email campaigns, depending on your suppression and marketing settings.

• Domain Suppression Override: If a domain is added to the suppression list, all customers using that domain will be restricted from receiving emails, even if they are marked as Active.

• CSV Format Requirement: While importing via CSV, ensure the file follows the correct format. The column names must match the required fields exactly to avoid import errors.

• Testing Recommended: After updating customer status, test by sending a sample campaign to ensure the settings are functioning as expected.
