Set Up a Product Cross-Sell Workflow

Introduction

Increasing average order value is key to growing your store’s revenue, and cross-selling is one of the most effective ways to achieve it. A Product Cross-Sell Workflow helps you automatically recommend relevant or complementary products to customers based on their purchase behavior.

In this article, you will learn how to set up a Product Cross-Sell Workflow. This will help you drive additional sales, enhance the customer shopping experience, and boost overall conversions through personalized product recommendations.


Follow the steps below to set up the product cross-sell workflow:

Step 2: Go to the Winback tab and click on the Use Now button beneath the Product Cross Sell box.




Step 3.
A pop-up will appear asking for confirmation. Click on Yes, use it!.




Step 4: The workflow with actions, including the default template, will appear. Customize the filters and actions as per your needs.



Step 5: You can change the email template according to your requirements and brand aesthetics by clicking on the link available in the email action.




Step 6: Edit the workflow name, set up the throttle settings and mark the workflow as active by clicking on Active button.



Now, emails will be sent to customers once they enter the workflow.


Important Notes

  • Ensure the workflow trigger (e.g., order fulfillment or purchase event) is correctly configured to target the right customers.
  • Customize the cross-sell email content with relevant product recommendations based on customer behavior or past purchases.
  • Keep product suggestions personalized and limited to avoid overwhelming customers.
  • Use appropriate delay settings (e.g., a few days after purchase) to make recommendations more effective.
  • Enable throttle settings to control the frequency of emails sent to customers.
  • Monitor performance metrics such as open rates, clicks, and conversions to optimize the workflow.
  • Activate the workflow after setup, otherwise, cross-sell emails will not be sent.
