Setup Advance Welcome Series Workflow

Introduction

Setting up an advanced welcome series workflow allows you to engage new customers with a structured sequence of emails instead of a single message. This helps you introduce your brand, share important information, and guide customers through their initial journey with a more personalized and impactful experience.

In this article, you’ll learn how to create an advanced welcome series using workflows, enabling you to send multiple, well-timed emails that improve onboarding, boost engagement, and increase long-term customer retention.

Here are the steps to setup Advance welcome series workflow:

Step 2: Click on the Use Now button beneath the Welcome email (advance) box.

Step 3: A popup will appear asking for confirmation, click on Yes, use it! button.

Step 4: The workflow with actions, including the default template, will appear. Customize the triggers and actions as per your needs.

Step 5: You can change the email template according to your requirements and brand aesthetics by clicking on the link available in the email action.

Step 6: Edit the workflow name, set up the throttle settings and mark the workflow as active by clicking on Active button.

Now, emails will be sent to customers once they enter the workflow.

Important Notes

  • Ensure all triggers and conditions are configured correctly before activating the workflow to avoid sending emails to unintended customers.
  • The default template is fully customizable—update branding elements such as logo, colors, and messaging to match your store identity.
  • Test the workflow using a sample customer profile before making it live to verify email timing and content.
  • Use throttle settings wisely to control the frequency of emails and prevent overwhelming customers.
  • Make sure your email domain is authenticated to improve deliverability and avoid emails going to spam.
  • Review and update email content periodically to keep it relevant and engaging.
  • Monitor workflow performance through analytics to optimize open rates, click rates, and conversions.
  • Avoid adding too many emails in the sequence, keep the series concise and value-driven.
  • Always activate the workflow after setup—otherwise, emails will not be sent.
