Configure Loyalty Points Expiry | Keep Your Loyalty Program Active with AiTrillion

Loyalty points expiry

Introduction

Configuring loyalty points expiry helps you manage your rewards program more effectively by setting a time limit on how long customers can use their earned points. By defining an expiry period, you can encourage faster redemptions, increase repeat purchases, and prevent the accumulation of unused points. This article explains how to configure loyalty points expiry in AiTrillion, so you can maintain a balanced loyalty program while motivating customers to stay engaged with your store.

Below are the steps to configure Loyalty Points Expiry:

Step: Go to Loyalty Rewards > Set up Program> Point Expiry. Make settings as per your requirements and click save/update. Remember to enable the feature from the top right corner of the screen!

NotesNote📝:
  1. Customer points will start to expire based on the number of days you have set after the last order date. After this period, all unredeemed points will expire on a rolling basis for customers who have not placed an order for X days or more.

  2. Any changes to the point expiry settings will reset the point expiration period based on the last order date for all customers. For example, if the expiry period is updated from 90 days to 180 days after the last order, the new setting will apply to all customers. This includes customers whose points were previously set to expire in 90 days under the earlier setting.

  3. From now on, point expiry will work even if the make a purchase activity is disabled.

Important Notes

  1. Loyalty points expiry is calculated based on the customer’s last order date, not the date when the points were earned.
  2. Points will start expiring after the number of days configured in the Point Expiry settings, and this applies on a rolling basis for customers who have not placed an order within that period.
  3. Once enabled, points expiry will work independently, even if the Make a Purchase activity is disabled.
  4. Customers will lose only the unredeemed points after the expiry period, redeemed points or rewards are not affected.
