Add a thank-you widget to share on Facebook

Introduction

In this article, we'll walk you through the steps to set up a thank-you popup that encourages customers to share their experiences on Facebook. This feature allows you to leverage social media engagement and expand your brand's reach effortlessly.


Display a widget on the thank-you page asking your customers to share their order confirmation on Facebook and earn loyalty points.


Here are the steps to add the thank-you widget to share on Facebook:

Step 1: Go to Loyalty Rewards > Set up program > Earn Points.




Step 2: Click on the enable button on the Facebook Share On Thank You section.


Step 3: Specify the points you want to give to your customers.

Reward Configuration

Earning type

Choose the type of reward customers will receive for sharing on Facebook:

  • Points – Awards loyalty points to the customer.

  • Discount code – Generates a discount code for the customer.

  • Free product – Rewards the customer with a free product.


Earning value

  • Defines the value of the selected reward.

    • For points: Number of loyalty points awarded.

    • For discount code: Discount amount (percentage or fixed value).

    • For free product: The selected product is granted as a reward.



Reward text: The message shown to customers when they successfully receive the reward. Example: You earned 100 points for sharing on Facebook.

Description: Additional information displayed on the storefront explaining the reward. Helps customers understand why they received the reward.

Campaign name: Internal name of the campaign as shown in the loyalty program and customer-facing views. Example: Facebook Share Reward.

Popup banner image: Upload an image displayed in the thank-you popup. Recommended image size: 450 × 250 pixels. Use visually appealing images to encourage customers to share.


Step 4: Go to Shopify admin >> Themes >> Online store >> Click on Profile icon and Login to your store >> Click on Home or Customer Login >> Click on Checkout and Customer account >> Click on Checkout >> Click on Thank you >> Add the block Facebook Share >> Click on Thank you.

NotesNote: If you are using the new Shopify customer accounts, please ensure you use the same method for logging in.




Important Notes

  1. The Facebook Share on Thank You widget must be enabled for it to appear on the Thank You page.
  2. Customers receive rewards only after successfully sharing on Facebook.
  3. You can reward customers with loyalty points, a discount code, or a free product, based on the selected earning type.
  4. The earning value (points, discount amount, or product) must be correctly configured before enabling the widget.
  5. Changes made to the widget settings apply to future orders only.
