Subscribe and obtain consent for Email/SMS/Whatsapp marketing during newsletter popup signup.

Introduction

In this article, we'll explore the benefits of integrating Email and SMS subscriptions into your newsletter popups.

There are 2 ways to get the settings to subscribe for Email/SMS marketing -:

1.) Creating a new newsletter Popup

2.) Editing the settings on the popup which has already been created

Creating a new newsletter Popup

Step 1: Go to Smart popup >> Create new >> Newsletter popup

Step 2: Click on Create button

Step 3: Select the template according to your need and click on Use Now button

Step 4: Fill the details according to your needs and enable the settings of the following and click on Save -:
1.) To enable email marketing on the store - Enable the button of Subscribe for email marketing in the store
2.) To enable SMS marketing on the store - Enable the button of Subscribe for sms marketing in the store

Note📝:
1.) If you want customers to Subscribe to SMS marketing, you need to enable the Phone number field and click on the required button

2.) If you want to display the message of SMS consent click on "Collect SMS consent".

3.) If you want your customers to provide consent for WhatsApp marketing, click on "Collect WhatsApp Consent".

Editing the settings on the popup which has already been created

Step 1: Go to Smart popup >> Create new >> Newsletter popup

Step 2: Click on the Edit icon.

Step 3: Enable the settings of the following and click on Save -:
1.) To enable email marketing on the store - Enable the button of Subscribe for email marketing in the store
2.) To enable SMS marketing on the store - Enable the button of Subscribe for sms marketing in the store

Key Syncing Rules for Smart Popup SMS Consent to Shopify:

1️⃣ If email and phone number match in Shopify, update Shopify’s SMS consent.

2️⃣ If email matches but phone is blank, check if the phone is linked to another email:

If not linked, sync phone and SMS consent.

If linked to another email, show a message: "The phone number is already associated with another email."

3️⃣ If email matches but phone is different, show a message: "A different phone number is already associated with this email," displaying the last 4 digits of the existing number.

Note📝: If you enable the subscribe for SMS marketing in store than only it will sync on Shopify if you keep it disabled than it won't sync to Shopify but you can filter out in AiTrillion
