Setup Group Product Review
Introduction
Grouping product reviews allows you to display and manage reviews across similar or related products in one place. By setting up Group Product Reviews, you can consolidate feedback, improve review visibility, and provide a more informative experience for your customers. This feature is especially useful for products that share variations or belong to the same collection, helping you build stronger social proof and streamline review management.
What is a Group Product Review?
A Group Product Review is a feature that allows you to combine and display reviews from multiple related products under a single group instead of showing them separately for each product.
This is especially useful when you have:
- Product variants (e.g., different sizes, colors, or styles)
- Similar or related products within a collection
- Items that share the same core features
By grouping reviews:
- Customers can see more reviews in one place, improving trust and decision-making
- You can avoid duplicate or scattered feedback across similar products
- It helps build stronger social proof by showcasing combined ratings and reviews
Here are the steps to set up a group product review:
Step 1: Go to Product Reviews >> Display on store >> Grouped review >> Click on Create group.
Step 2: Now, a pop-up will appear. Give a name to the group and search for the product name that you would like to group.
Step 3: Click on the Create Group button.
Note: If the product reviews are not displaying the correct numbers after grouping reviews, you need to sync the metafields. To learn how, follow the steps below.
Step 2: Click on the Sync now button.
Before grouping the product reviews
Important Notes
- Group Product Reviews combine reviews from selected products, so ensure you are grouping relevant or similar products only.
- Once grouped, the total review count and ratings will reflect combined data from all selected products.
- If review counts do not update correctly, make sure to sync Shopify metafields to reflect the latest data.
- Avoid grouping unrelated products, as this may confuse customers and impact trust.
- Any new reviews added to grouped products will automatically be included in the group.
- You can edit or remove products from a group anytime using the Edit Group option.
- Changes made in grouping may take a few moments to reflect on the storefront.
