Remind Customers To Enter Their Date Of Birth

Introduction

Reminding customers to enter their date of birth helps you unlock opportunities for personalized engagement, such as birthday offers, rewards, and targeted campaigns. Collecting this information allows you to create more meaningful interactions and strengthen customer relationships.

In this article, you’ll learn how to set up automated reminders using workflows to prompt customers to add their date of birth, ensuring you can deliver timely and personalized experiences that drive engagement and loyalty.


Here are the steps to remind customers to enter their date of birth:

Step 1: Go to the Customers >> All Customers >> Click on Add filters.




Step 2: In the filter selection panel, search for birthday and click on Customer birthday.




Step 3: Click on the is empty option and then click on Done.



Step 4: Click on the Apply filter button, which will change to Save segment, and click on the Save segment button.




Step 5: Add the segment name, description, and click on the Create segment button.



Step 6: Now, go to Workflow automation >> Workflows >> and click on the Create from scratch button.




Step 7: Drag and drop the Contact is added trigger, Customer segment filter, send email action, and connect the nodes.

Note: You can add the delays or actions or filters as per your needs.




Step 8: Click on Trigger and select the Any Source option from the left menu. Then, add a Customer Segment filter and choose the segment you created earlier from the left menu. Finally, click on the Send Email action and select the desired email template that you have created.

Step 9: Give a name to the workflow, select the contact throttling option, and mark the workflow as active by clicking on the Enable button.



Now, whenever a customer signs up through any source, the email will be sent for the reminder to add their birthday


Important Notes

  • Ensure you create a customer segment with an empty Date of Birth field to target the right audience.
  • Use the correct trigger (e.g., Contact Added / Any Source) so the workflow starts appropriately.
  • Apply a Customer Segment filter to ensure only relevant customers receive the reminder.
  • Make sure the email template for the reminder is created in advance.
  • Verify that all shortcodes and personalization fields in the email are working correctly.
  • Connect all nodes (trigger, filter, and action) properly in the workflow editor.
  • You can add delays or additional actions based on your campaign strategy.
  • Configure contact throttling to prevent sending repeated reminder emails too frequently.
  • Save and enable the workflow, otherwise reminder emails will not be sent.
