Import members in Membership

Introduction

In this article, we will explore the process of importing members into Membership V2.

Notes
Note: The members can only import into the manual renewal plan.

Here are the steps to import members in Membership V2 -:

Step 2: Click on Sample CSV to download the sample CSV.

Note: All the fields available in the demo CSV are necessary to add.

Add the details in the CSV which are following

1. customer_email - Email id of the customer

2. customer_shopify_id - To find the Shopify customer id follow the steps below:
a) Go to Shopify admin >> Customers >> Search the customer email and click on email.


b) Copy the Customer ID and paste it in the CSV


3.) subscription_date - The subscription start date from which the customer gains access to the membership.

4.) expiry_date - The end date from which the customer's membership will end


Step 3: Click on the Import members button.
 


Step 4: Select the Membership plan



Step 5: Select the CSV and click on Upload.




Step 6: Once the import is done, will get the details of the CSV import

Name: The name of the uploaded file.

Create Count: Number of new members added.

Updated Count: Number of members whose details were updated.

Error Count: Number of records that failed to import due to errors.

Created Date: The timestamp of when the file was uploaded.

Updated Date: The last modification date.

Status: Indicates the completion status (e.g. Pending, Completed).



Now, you will get the list of customers in the Members tab



Important Notes

  • Members can only be imported into Manual Renewal membership plans.
  • Ensure that the membership plan is already created before importing members.
  • Download and use the provided sample CSV file to maintain the correct import format.
  • All required fields in the CSV file must be filled correctly before uploading.
  • The CSV file should include the following details:
    • customer_email – Customer email address
    • customer_shopify_id – Shopify customer ID
    • subscription_date – Membership start date
    • expiry_date – Membership expiration date
  • Ensure that the customer email and Shopify customer ID belong to the same customer account.
  • Incorrect customer IDs or invalid data may cause the import process to fail.
  • Date values should be added in the correct format supported by the system.
  • Existing membership records may be updated if the imported customer already exists in the selected membership plan.
  • After uploading the CSV file, click the Upload button to start the import process.
  • Once the import is completed, you can review the import status and details such as:
    • Created count
    • Updated count
    • Error count
    • Import status
  • The import status may appear as Pending, Processing, or Completed during the import process.
  • It is recommended to verify imported members from the Members tab after the import is completed.
