Build Custom HTML Review Emails for Initial and Reminder Notifications

Build Custom HTML Review Emails for Initial and Reminder Notifications

Introduction

Collecting customer feedback is essential for building trust and improving your products, but the way you ask for reviews can make a big difference in response rates. While standard email templates work, customizing your review request emails allows you to better match your brand voice, create a more engaging experience, and encourage more customers to share their feedback.

With the Custom HTML option, you can design review emails that feel more personal and visually appealing. This gives you the flexibility to add creative layouts, highlight products, and include clear calls-to-action that guide customers toward leaving a review.

In this article, we’ll walk you through how to build and use custom HTML review emails to create a more effective and engaging feedback collection experience.

Here are the steps to build a custom review and reminder email for customer feedback:

Step 2: Go to either the Initial email or Reminder email, click on the Custom HTML tab, and enable the Enable review email button.

Step 3: Add the subject of the email as per your need.

Step 4: Add the custom code, use the shortcode from the select shortcode menu, preview the email and click on Send test email to send the email for test.

Step 5: Once everything is set up and finalized, click the Save button.

Now, the emails created using custom HTML will be sent to customers.

Important Notes

  • Ensure the Enable review email option is turned on in the Custom HTML tab before sending emails.
  • Use only supported shortcodes to dynamically display customer and order details (e.g., product name, customer name).
  • Do not remove required shortcodes, as this may break the email functionality.
  • Make sure your HTML code is clean and properly structured to avoid rendering issues across different email clients.
  • Test your email design using the Send test email option before activating it.
  • Keep your email responsive and mobile-friendly, as most users open emails on mobile devices.
  • Avoid using unsupported scripts or advanced CSS that may not render correctly in email clients.
  • Ensure all links, buttons, and call-to-actions are working properly.
  • Use clear and engaging subject lines to improve open rates.
  • Keep the email design simple and focused to improve readability and conversions.
  • For reminder emails, avoid sending too frequently to prevent customer fatigue.
