There are several reasons why web push notifications might not be showing. Here are some common issues and important settings you need to check across different operating systems and browsers:


Common Reasons for Web Push Notifications Not Showing

  1. Permission Not Granted: Users must grant permission for your website to send notifications.

  2. Notification Blocked: Users might have blocked notifications from your website either intentionally or unintentionally.

  3. Browser Restrictions: Some browsers have specific restrictions or settings that need to be enabled for push notifications to work.

  4. Do Not Disturb Mode: Users might have enabled 'Do Not Disturb' mode, which can prevent notifications from appearing.

  5. Network Issues: Intermittent or poor network connections can affect the delivery of push notifications.

Important Settings for Different Operating Systems and Browsers

Windows

  1. Chrome/Edge/Firefox:

  • Ensure notifications are enabled for the browser in the Windows settings:

  • Go to Settings > System > Notifications & actions.

  • Find your browser and make sure notifications are turned on.

  • In the browser settings, ensure site notifications are allowed:

  • Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Notifications.

  • Firefox: Options > Privacy & Security > Permissions > Notifications.
