Sync Additional Form Fields to Custom Fields | Integrate Form Data with AiTrillion

Sync form builder and membership registration form additional field data into AiTrillion custom field

Introduction

When managing customer data, having a streamlined process to collect and utilize additional information is key for personalized marketing and enhanced customer experiences. AiTrillion’s integration with FormBuilder and Membership membership modules on Shopify allows sellers to map additional form fields and Shopify note attributes directly into AiTrillion

Why do we need to map?

In the Form Builder and Membership Registration forms or any other app, the additional field data is saved into the Shopify note attribute. We've introduced an option in AiTrillion's custom fields to map Shopify note attribute data to a custom field.

There are two ways to map customer note attribute data with AiTrillion:

  1. Using Key-Value Pair (FormBuilder & Membership): Sellers can map additional fields from their forms to AiTrillion. Keep in mind, mapping will only occur if the data types match correctly. For select, radio, or checkbox fields, the mapping will happen only if the available options align with the data in the customer’s note attribute.

  2. Using note attribute String: Sellers can map specific customer note attribute data as a single string into a custom field in AiTrillion.

NotesNote: The custom field will only map with the Registration form

Using Key-Value Pair (FormBuilder & Membership):

Here are the steps to map the data:

Notes

Note: Ensure that the field is available in the membership plan. For example, I am using the 'Age' field.

Step 2: Create a Custom field that you want to map.

Step 3: Go to Customers >> All Customers >> Click on Create segment >> Add filter >> add the filter of the Custom field. The filtered data will now be available. For example, I have used the age field.

Using note attribute String

Here are the steps to map the data:

Step 1: Go to Customers >> Custom field

Ensure that the Note attribute will be added to the customer

Step 2: Create a Custom field that you want to map.
  1. Map with Shopify's note attribute using a key-value format - This syncs the entry in Key: Value format.
  2. Map with Shopify's note attribute as one continuous strings - This syncs the whole shopify notes string.

Step 3: Go to Customers >> All Customers and add the filter of the Custom field. The filtered data will now be available.

Now, you can easily send campaigns to customers who registered through the Form Builder or Membership module.

Important Notes:

  1. Custom fields must be created before mapping Form Builder or Membership data.
  2. You can map data using either Key–Value Pair (MetaFields) or Shopify Note Attribute String, depending on how the data is stored.
  3. Ensure the field type (text, number, date, etc.) matches the format of the incoming form or membership data.
  4. When using Key–Value Pair mapping, the key name must exactly match the field name used in the form or membership module.
  5. While using Note Attribute String mapping, make sure the format is correctly structured to avoid sync issues.
  6. After mapping, always verify the data from Customers > All Customers to confirm successful synchronization.
  7. If data is not visible, check whether the form submission or membership registration was completed successfully.
  8. Avoid changing the key name after mapping, as it may break the data sync.
  9. Previously collected data may not sync automatically unless it matches the mapped key format.
  10. Test the mapping with a sample submission before using it in live campaigns or segmentation
