AiTrillion MCP & APIs: Send Emails Directly from Claude or ChatGPT

Introduction

Sending an email in AiTrillion has always taken a few set-up steps: build a segment, create a campaign, pick the audience, and only then send. That is the right route for a planned newsletter, but it is slow when you simply want a message to reach a handful of customers today.

With Direct Email Sending through the AiTrillion MCP & APIs, you can now send an email straight from an AI assistant — Claude or ChatGPT — without creating a segment or a campaign first. Tell the AI who should receive the email and what it should say, and AiTrillion does the sending. Every email sent this way is tracked with the same reporting as a regular email campaign.

This article shows you how to connect AiTrillion to Claude or ChatGPT, how to ask the AI to send an email to specific customers or to a segment, and where to find the sent emails and their reports in your AiTrillion account.

What's New

•   Send emails directly — send to specific customer email addresses. Simply pass the email address(es) through the API or MCP; no segment or campaign is needed beforehand.

•   Send to customer segments — you can also send to an existing AiTrillion customer segment, letting the AI pick the right audience and trigger the email.

•   Available in Claude and ChatGPT — connect AiTrillion to either assistant and ask it to send emails using your AiTrillion account.

•   Full email reporting — direct sends report Sent, Opened, Clicked, Orders and Revenue, with a detailed report for each email, exactly like a regular campaign.

•   A new log in your account — every direct send is listed under Email marketing › Email sent log (API).

Before You Begin

•   You need an active AiTrillion account with the Email marketing module enabled.

•   You need a Claude or ChatGPT account where you can add a connector or plugin.

•   You will sign in with your AiTrillion login once, while connecting. After that the AI acts on your own store only.

•   Make sure your sender details (From name and From email) are set up in AiTrillion Email marketing, since direct sends use them just like campaigns do.

Note: Emails sent through the AI are real emails that go to real customers. Always read the summary the AI shows you before you confirm the send.

Step 1: Connect AiTrillion to Claude

If you use Claude, open Settings, select Connectors under Customize, and search for AiTrillion. Open the AiTrillion connector and click Connect to Claude.

Figure 1: In Claude, open Settings › Connectors, find AiTrillion and click Connect to Claude.

You are asked to log in to AiTrillion. Sign in with your AiTrillion email and password and allow access. Once connected, the AiTrillion tools are available in any new Claude chat.

Note: Using ChatGPT instead? Skip to Step 2. You only need to connect the assistant you plan to use.

Step 2: Connect AiTrillion to ChatGPT

If you use ChatGPT, open Settings and select Plugins. Find AiTrillion, open it, and connect it with your AiTrillion login.

Scroll down the AiTrillion plugin page to Write tools. Two tools here handle email sending:

•   Send direct email — sends an email to specific people (new or existing customers) without needing a list.

•   Send campaign — sends an email campaign to an existing list and/or segment using a saved template.

Figure 2: In ChatGPT, open Settings › Plugins › AiTrillion. Send campaign and Send direct email are listed under Write tools.

The plugin also includes Create email template, which lets the AI save a reusable template (title, subject and HTML body) that can then be used for a segment send.

Step 3: Ask the AI to Send the Email

Open a new chat in Claude or ChatGPT and describe the email in plain language. Say who should receive it and what it should say. For example:

To specific customers

•   "Send this email to these 50 customers." (then paste or list the email addresses)

•   "Email jane@example.com and mark@example.com about our weekend sale, with the subject Your weekend offer is here."

To a segment

•   "Send this email to customers in the VIP segment."

•   "Use my Winter Drop template and send it to the Repeat buyers segment."

Before anything is sent, the AI first prepares the email and shows you a summary — the recipients or segment, the subject and the content. Check it, and reply to confirm. Only after you confirm does AiTrillion send the email.

Note: You can personalise the subject and body with merge tags such as {{first_name}} and {{shop_name}}, just as you would in a campaign.

Step 4: Open the Email Sent Log (API)

Every email sent from Claude, ChatGPT or the API is recorded in your AiTrillion account. In the left navigation, expand Email marketing and click Email sent log (API).

Figure 3: Expand Email marketing and open Email sent log (API).

This page lists emails sent directly through the API — MCP, AI automations and single sends. Regular campaigns stay under Campaigns, so the two never mix.

Step 5: Filter the Log

Use the tabs at the top to switch between All, Sent, Pending and Failed emails. The number in brackets shows how many emails each tab holds.

To narrow the list, type a name in Campaign, choose a From date and To date, and click Search.

Figure 4: The status tabs (All, Sent, Pending, Failed) and the Campaign and date filters.

Note: An email waiting to go out appears under Pending. If an email could not be sent, it moves to Failed, so check this tab if a customer says they did not receive an email.

Step 6: Review the Results of Each Email

Each row shows the email name, the email subject and when it was sent, followed by its results:

•   Status — whether the email was sent.

•   Sent — how many emails went out.

•   Opened and Clicked — opens and clicks, with the rate underneath.

•   Orders and Revenue — orders placed and revenue earned from the email.

Click View report in the Action column to open the full report for that email.

Step 7: Open the Detailed Email Report

The report works exactly like a campaign report. It opens on Overview, which charts Sent vs. Delivered, Delivered vs. Open, Open vs. Click and Click vs. Conversion, and lists the subject, sender, total recipients and send time alongside the totals for opens, clicks, orders and revenue.

Use the tabs to see more detail: Recipient activity, Message, Audience, Orders and Link activity.

Step 8: Export the Data (Optional)

To work with the results outside AiTrillion, click Export campaign data at the top right of the Email sent log (API) page.

Figure 7: Export campaign data, at the top right of the Email sent log (API) page.

Example: Before and After

Before: create a segment → create a campaign → select the customers → send.

Now: ask the AI — "Send this email to these 50 customers." or "Send this email to customers in the VIP segment." — and AiTrillion handles the sending.

No campaign set-up. No manual segmentation. Just tell the AI who should receive the email and what you want to send.

Important Notes

Note: Direct sends are recorded only in Email sent log (API). They do not appear in the Campaigns list.

Note: A segment send uses an existing AiTrillion segment and a saved email template. If the template does not exist yet, ask the AI to create it first.

Note: The AI acts only on the AiTrillion store you signed in with. To work on another store, disconnect and connect again with that store’s login.

Note: The emails in the screenshots of this article are sample data.

Troubleshooting

The AI says it cannot send emails.

Check that AiTrillion is connected in the assistant (Claude: Settings › Connectors; ChatGPT: Settings › Plugins) and that you are using a new chat after connecting. If it was connected earlier, disconnect and connect again so the latest tools, including the write tools, are loaded.

The email does not appear in the log.

Make sure you confirmed the send in the chat. Then refresh Email sent log (API) and check the Pending and Failed tabs.

A segment send went to fewer customers than expected.

The email goes only to the customers in the segment at the time of sending. Check the segment under Customers before sending.

Next ⏭️

Now that you can send emails straight from AI, review your Email sent log (API) regularly to compare direct sends with your scheduled campaigns, and use the reports to decide which messages to send next.
