Criteria to enter the program
Points Earned:
Members can enter a VIP tier based on the loyalty points they have accumulated. The more points you earn through your purchases and interactions, the higher the tier you can achieve. This system rewards your engagement and loyalty by elevating your status as you continue to earn points.
Amount Spent:
Another way to enter a VIP tier is through the total amount spent. Your spending is tracked based on the dates of your purchase activities. The more you spend, the higher the tier you can reach. This method ensures that your purchasing power is recognized and rewarded with elevated VIP status.
Tag-Based:
VIP tiers can also be assigned based on specific Shopify customer tags. These tags are used to categorize customers based on certain criteria, such as purchase history or membership status. If your account is tagged appropriately, you can be automatically placed into a corresponding VIP tier, enjoying the benefits associated with that level.
Timeframe available to achieving the tiers
Different timeframes available for achieving and maintaining a VIP tier within our rewards program:
Lifetime as a Rewards Member:
As a rewards member, you have your entire lifetime to achieve a VIP tier. Once you reach a tier, you can enjoy its benefits for the rest of your life. This means that your status and the associated perks are permanent, allowing you to continually enjoy exclusive rewards without any expiration.
One Calendar Year:
When you achieve a VIP tier, you can enjoy its benefits for the remainder of the current calendar year and the entire following calendar year. For example, if you reach the VIP tier in June 2024, you will enjoy the benefits until December 31, 2025. This allows you ample time to make the most of your VIP status and the perks it offers.
365 Days from Last Tier Upgrade:
Upon reaching a VIP tier, you are entitled to its benefits for the next 365 days. This rolling timeframe ensures that your VIP status remains active for a full year from the date you achieve the tier. For instance, if you reach the VIP tier on March 1, 2024, you will enjoy the benefits until March 1, 2025.

Spent - amount to Achieve This Tier
To move up to a higher VIP tier, customers need to reach a certain spending threshold. This threshold ensures that only those who spend a significant amount with your business are granted access to the exclusive benefits of the higher tiers. By setting clear spending requirements, you can motivate customers to increase their purchases to reach the next level.
Set Earning Ratio
The earning ratio determines how many points customers earn for every dollar spent. You can set a higher earning ratio for VIP members to reward them more generously for their loyalty. For example, while regular members might earn 1 point per dollar, VIP members could earn 1.5 or 2 points per dollar. This enhanced earning ratio provides a compelling reason for customers to strive for and maintain their VIP status.
Additional Points for VIP Customers
As part of your VIP program, you can choose to offer more points to your VIP customers. For example, you might set a ratio where 1 point for regular customers equals 2 points for VIP members. This generous points system ensures that your VIP customers feel valued and rewarded more significantly for their continued loyalty.
Tag-Based Tier Assignment
Using Shopify’s tagging system, you can automatically assign VIP tiers to new customers based on specific tags. When you add a tag to a customer’s profile, they are instantly placed into the corresponding VIP tier without any manual work. One-Time Bonus Points:
