Send Emails Based on Purchased Products | Smart Targeting with AiTrillion

Can I use AiTrillion to send emails to customers whose orders contain a specific type of product?

Introduction

Yes, AiTrillion allows you to send targeted emails to customers based on the products included in their orders. This helps you create highly relevant campaigns by reaching customers who have purchased specific items or product types.

In this article, you’ll learn how to set up a workflow that identifies orders containing particular products and automatically sends personalized emails to those customers, helping you improve engagement, drive repeat purchases, and deliver more tailored marketing messages.


Follow the steps below to send an email to people whose order contains a certain type of product:



Step 2: Drag and drop the Order Placed Trigger to the workflow editor.



Step 3: In the filters tab, choose the Ordered Product filters by dragging them into the workflow editor area.



Step 4: Click on the Ordered product filter, and on the left side, you will get a select field which includes the following options:
  1. Title: Filters the product ordered which includes a specific title. This is mainly used if you want to send an email to those customers who ordered a product with a specific title.
  2. Tags: Filters the product ordered which includes a specific tag. This is mainly used if you want to send an email to those customers who ordered a product with a specific tag.




Step 5: Enter the title or tag details, which are as follows:
  1. If you use the title option: You need to select the operator (e.g. Contains or starts with), enter the title, and click on Done.



  2. If you choose the tag option: You need to enter the tag name, click on Add, and click on Done.

    Note: You can add multiple tags.


Step 6: Choose the Email action or communication action of your choice (e.g. WhatsApp, Email, or SMS) and connect the node.



Step 7: Click on Email action, which is added to the Workflow editor, select the template, add the required details, and click on Done.




Step 8: Now, all you need to do is configure the throttling options, provide a name for your workflow, and mark the workflow as active by clicking the enable button.



Now, emails will be sent to customers whose orders match the specified tag or product title.



Important Notes

  • Ensure you are using the correct trigger (e.g., Order Placed) so the workflow starts when an order is created.
  • Use the Ordered Product filter to accurately target customers based on product title or tags.
  • Double-check whether you are filtering by product title or product tag, depending on your use case.
  • Make sure the filter conditions are set correctly to avoid sending emails to the wrong audience.
  • You can combine filters for more precise targeting if needed.
  • Always connect the filter and action nodes properly in the workflow editor.
  • Select the correct email (or communication) template before activating the workflow.
  • Test the workflow to ensure emails are triggered only for matching orders.
  • Configure contact throttling to prevent duplicate or excessive emails.
  • Ensure the workflow is saved and enabled, otherwise emails will not be sent.
